Brightside Guest House at Bald Knob, built in 1935 for Mrs Winifred Domsch nee Edwards, and her husband Ernest (engineer with John Wilson & Partners). The guest house, which is behind the Sunrise Caravan Park on the Landsborough Maleny Road (1989), was used as a Rest and Recreation centre by servicewomen during WWII. Mrs Domsch was a well-known personality until she died on 15th May 1983 aged 84 years. Before owning Brightside, Mrs Domsch ran the Pagoda Guest House at Bald Knob for a time, until it burnt down.
Today the Brightside Guest House is a private residence situated behind the Sunrise Caravan Park at Bald Knob.
